Built an offline-capable mobile app for an adventure and trekking tour company whose trips regularly take travelers to remote areas with no reliable cell signal. Travelers download their full itinerary, maps, emergency contacts, and safety briefings before departure, so everything remains accessible throughout the trip without needing a connection. Guides can log check-ins and basic incident notes directly in the app, which sync back to the home office automatically once a connection becomes available again. This replaced printed briefing packets that were bulky to carry and impossible to update once a trip was underway. We tested the offline data package and sync behavior specifically in low-connectivity conditions similar to the company's actual trekking routes, since that's the exact environment it needed to work reliably in. It was piloted on one remote trek before becoming standard across all trip itineraries. Travelers and guides now have reliable access to safety-critical trip information in areas with no connectivity, addressing a real safety and liability concern that printed briefing packets never fully solved.
