Overview

Built a branded client portal for a management consulting firm running multiple concurrent engagements across different practice areas, replacing scattered email threads and shared drive folders as the way clients received deliverables. Each client gets a private, password-protected space showing project timeline, uploaded deliverables, and open action items, with consultants able to post updates without leaving their existing project-tracking tools. The portal was built to reflect the firm's brand rather than feel like a generic file-sharing tool, reinforcing the premium positioning the firm markets to prospective clients. We also added a simple activity log so partners could see at a glance which clients hadn't logged in recently and might need a check-in call. Clients received deliverables and updates through scattered email threads and shared drive folders, giving the firm no consistent, professional way to keep multiple concurrent engagements organized across different practice areas. We built a branded client portal giving each client a private, password-protected space with project timeline, deliverables, and open action items, reinforcing the firm's premium positioning instead of feeling like a generic file-sharing tool. We started by shadowing how partners currently shared updates and deliverables across a sample of engagements, then designed the portal's information architecture around what clients actually asked for status on. It launched with one practice area as a pilot before rolling out firm-wide. The firm now delivers a consistent, professional client experience across every engagement instead of ad hoc email threads, and partners report a meaningful drop in status-check emails since clients can see progress themselves.
