Built an automated screening workflow for a property management company processing dozens of rental applications a week across its portfolio. Applicants submit information through a branded online form, which automatically triggers background and credit checks through the client's existing screening vendor and compiles results into a single summary for the leasing team. The workflow enforces the client's existing screening criteria consistently across every applicant rather than relying on individual staff judgment, while still leaving the final decision to a human reviewer. Automated status emails keep applicants informed at each stage without staff needing to send manual updates. We reviewed the client's existing screening criteria and vendor contract in detail before building anything, to make sure the automated workflow matched their actual policy rather than a simplified version of it. The workflow was tested against a batch of past applications to confirm results matched manual outcomes before going live. Time-to-decision dropped from several days to under 24 hours, and the leasing team now applies the same screening criteria consistently to every applicant instead of relying on individual judgment calls.
