Built an AI chatbot embedded in a cocktail bar group's website and table QR menus that answers questions about ingredients, suggests pairings, and recommends a premium upgrade or add-on based on what a guest is already considering. The chatbot was trained on the group's actual menu and seasonal specials, and updates automatically whenever the menu changes rather than requiring a manual refresh. This addressed a real revenue opportunity the group had identified: guests often didn't know about premium spirit upgrades or shareable appetizers unless a server happened to mention them during a busy shift. The tone was tuned to match the group's upscale-but-approachable brand voice rather than sounding like a generic ordering bot. We trained the chatbot directly on the group's live menu feed and worked with management to tune suggestion tone so it felt like a knowledgeable server, not a generic upsell bot. It launched at one location first to validate suggestion relevance before rolling out group-wide. Average check size on orders that used the chatbot rose an estimated 12%, largely through upgrade and add-on suggestions servers didn't always have time to make themselves.
